Aluminum

Occurrence, isolation & synthesis

Tin-white, ductile malleable metal, with a blue tinge [8].

Occurrence

In nature, aluminum is found in the Earth's crust, 8.3 %, in minerals such as aluminum silicate and aluminum oxide. The commercially important source is beauxite [8]. The isotope found in nature is 27Al (100 %, stable) [8].

In pure solid form, aluminum exist in a face-centered cubic structure [4]
