Rhodium

Occurrence, isolation & synthesis

Silvery white, soft, malleable, ductile metal [4].

Occurrence

In nature, rhodium is found in the Earth's crust, ~0.001 ppm, as alloy with platinum, in some nickel-copper ores and in minerals such as rhodite, sperrylite and iridosmine [4]. The isotope found in nature is 107Rh (100 %, stable) [4].

In pure solid form, rhodium exist in face-centered cubic crystal structure [4]
