Cerium

Cerium was discovered in 1803 by Jöns Jacob Berzelius and Wilhelm Hisinger and by Martin Klaproth. It was first isolated by Hillebrand and Norton in 1875 [3].

Named after the asteroid Ceres which was discovered in 1801, 2 years before the element [3].
