Occurrence
Bromine is found in the Earth's crust, 1.6 · 10 −4 % (w/w) [5], and is found naturally in:
- Dead sea [3]
- Salt deposits [3]
- Sea water (8 · 10−4 M) [3]
- Underground brines [3]
The naturally occurring isotopes are 79Br (50.54 %, stable) and 81Br (49.46 %, stable) [5].
