Ruthenium

In nature, ruthenium is found in the Earth's crust, in minerals such as osmiridium and laurite, and in platinum ores and some nickel ores [5]. The isotopes found in nature are ⁹⁶Ru (5.46 %, stable), ⁹⁸Ru (1.87 %, stable), ⁹⁹Ru (12.63 %, stable), ¹⁰⁰Ru (12.53 %, stable), ¹⁰¹Ru (17.02 %, stable), ¹⁰²Ru (31.6 %, stable) and ¹⁰⁴Ru (18.87 %, stable) [5].

In pure solid form, ruthenium exist in close-packed hexagonal crystal structure [5]
