Polonium

Occurrence, isolation & synthesis

Occurrence

In nature, polonium is found in the Earth's crust, as a product of radium disintegration [4]. The isotope found in nature is 210Po (100 %, T½ = 138.4 days) [4].

In pure solid form, polonium coexist in an α- and β-form in the temperature range 18-54 °C [6].
