Curium is a silvery, lusterous and malleable metal [3].


Occurrence


Curium can be found in very small amounts in natural deposits of uranium [2].

In pure solid form, curium exist in the following forms:
α-form: double hexagonal close-packed crystal at < ~1277 °C [3]
β-form: face-centered cubic crystal from > ~1277 °C [3]
