Phosphorous

Phosphorus was discovered by the German merchant Hennig Brand in 1669 [11].

From the Greek word phosphoros, which means bringing light, as it has the property of glowing in the dark. Phosphoros was also the ancient name for the planet Venus, when it appears before sunrise. [10].
